Introducing the technique of making animal feed from the cassava peels
Amanase in Ghana was once an agrarian settlement, which is now faced with challenges such as youth unemployment, outdated Gari processing, and the loss of cassava farms.
The project aims to modernize cassava farming and processing in Amanase through innovative technology, industrial practices, and sustainable methods. This includes establishing smallholder cassava farms, utilizing cassava peels for animal feed, and extracting starch for industrial use. By reviving the traditional occupation of Gari making and promoting food sustainability, the initiative seeks to provide employment, income, and a brighter future for the community.
