Idea in a nutshell

Creating an avenue for equitable access to education for kids from underserved communities by exposing them to digital technology while providing educational resources and also in a climate-friendly environment. This tripartite approach insists on raising resilient young leaders who care about the environment, are digitally empowered, and academically sound. The Ecolearn hubs will become the new safe haven to draw many out of mental and financial poverty on the African continent and reposition Africa's huge youth demography as a resilient force for good in the future.

Main challenges in the development and implementation of your idea

The main challenge would be funding and then convincing parents and community leaders that education has no agenda other than the agenda to empower and enlighten. Many communities here believe that western education is an agenda to radicalize their children and turn them away from culture or religion. So it would take a great deal of community deep-work, which we are well equipped for and having been involved in over the last decade.

Expectations from the challenge

"To learn and then to incorporate my learnings into a strategy. This strategy will accommodate the fears of parents, legitimize the fears but show symbolic alternatives of girls and boys in other communities who are educated and prospering. On the funding side, i believe that the novelty of this idea will attract funding to it and we will not rest till we have hubs in every nook and cranny of Africa- ultimately resulting in a decrease of out of school children and an increased interest in digital learn and climate action"
