Idea in a nutshell

ScholarHive is a global Learning and Support Platform for ease of collaboration and networking opportunities that will provide a repository of educational resources, online courses, and other relevant content that will be accessible to a wider audience. This platform will also serve as a community for researchers and policymakers to share knowledge, identify emerging issues, and develop collaborative solutions towards addressing complex global challenges in the global society.

The platform will be running a virtual system with high technology integrated domains that provides opportunities, get feedback and established their expertise in their fields, and fosters cross-border and transdisciplinary collaborations and exchange of ideas, knowledge and insights that aligned with the sustainable development goals (SDGs) of Quality Education (SDG 4), Decent Work (SDG 8), Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure (SDG 9) and Global Partnerships (SDG 17). The research project is anchored on the theory of collaboration and knowledge sharing. The theory proposes that collaboration among scholars and leaders from different higher education institutions can lead to the development of innovative solutions to complex global challenges.

The conceptual framework is based on the premise that sustainable development is a complex global challenge that requires a multidisciplinary and transdisciplinary approach. The framework draws from literature on cross-border university networks, cross-border partnerships, and multi-level international networking. The project implementation design will follow mixed methods approaches, such as case studies, Design-Based Implementation Research (DBIR), and Network Improvement Community (NIC). The key constructs of the project include education systems, cross-border collaborations, online learning experience, international scholars and leaders’ network, generational educational development and support, global sustainability.

Main challenges in the development and implementation of your idea

The main issue with taking the app to development and implementation is that of initial start-up finance and access to app building expertise. Support would also be required to monetise the app effectively, while keeping it free to access, so ensuring its long-term sustainability.
